International Cultural Exchange
Expanding Surrounding, ‘Mengembangkan Sekitar’ in Indonesian, is led by Art et al. and Tab Space in Bandung, in partnership with Jump Left. This exciting project builds on the successful 2024 'Capturing Surrounding' UK/Indonesia collaboration and will generate dynamic peer-to-peer collaborations between Australian and Indonesian neurodivergent and neurotypical artists and organisations.
The collaborations are already underway and gaining momentum. Australian artist Vipoo Srivilasa recently had the opportunity to visit Bandung to meet his collaborator Achmad Ilham Sadikin in person, bringing their creative dialogue from the digital realm into face-to-face connection. Meanwhile, Claudia Panca Fadilla (Indonesia) and Anna Louise Richardson (Australia) have already held two productive online meetings as they develop their collaborative work.
The project will culminate in a Melbourne-based suite of exhibitions, artist and staff residencies, educational talks, and professional development workshops, creating rich opportunities for artists, staff, and audiences from both countries to engage and learn from each other. The artist residency at Jump Left project space will be undertaken by Adryan Adinugraha from Tab Space, who will travel to Melbourne with two staff members.
This initiative deepens cross-cultural partnerships whilst fostering genuine understanding between our creative communities. It creates mutually beneficial opportunities for both creative and professional growth, building meaningful connections that extend far beyond the project itself.
The collaboration has strong foundations, building on our earlier UK/Indonesia project funded by the British Council. Tab Space, Indonesia's pioneering professional studio for disabled artists, champions their development as professional practitioners.
Exhibition Details
The exhibition runs from October to November 2025 at Jump Left project space in Melbourne, Australia. It will include a launch event with associated public programming, featuring artist talks and workshops. Dates and details will be advised, with public programming to be announced closer to the exhibition.

How the Peer to Peer Projects Came About
Following the success of our first collaborative project, "Capturing Surrounding," we were eager to continue building meaningful international connections with artists. This extension project, "Expanding Surrounding," builds upon the foundation established in our initial collaboration that was supported by a grant from the British Council's 'Connections Through Culture 2023' program, obtained by Tab Space. The program connected art and culture practitioners from Asia and the UK. In 2024, Angkasa Nasrullah Emir and Suzanne M Yazid were paired with two UK artists [invited by] Art et al., Richard Phoenix and James Lambert. Facilitated by Annisa Fanny, Nurul Lathifah from Tab Space, and Lisa Slominski and Jennifer Gilbert from Art et al.

Building on our first collaborative project "Capturing Surrounding," the "Expanding Surrounding" initiative continued Art et al.'s "Peer to Peer" program approach, connecting neurotypical and neurodivergent artists across cultures. The project operated through virtual sessions where paired artists collaborated to extend their previous explorations. The collaboration paired Indonesian artists Achmad Ilham Sadikin with Australian artist Vipoo Srivilasa, and Claudia Panca Fadilla with Anna Louise Richardson. Through virtual meetings and in-person visits, the artists built upon cross-cultural artistic dialogue and developed deeper responses to each other's work, furthering creative growth between Australia and Indonesia. This extension adapted Art et al.'s inclusive collaborative framework while expanding the artistic connections established in the first project, culminating in an exhibition in Naarm/Melbourne and an artist residency by Adryan Adinugraha: at Jump Left in Naarm/Melbourne.

Peer to Peer / Anna and Claudia
Anna Louise Richardson
Anna lives and works on Bindjareb Nyoongar Boodja in Western Australia's Peel region. Her deeply autobiographical work uses animals, domestic objects, and rural landscapes as metaphors for life and death. Working primarily with charcoal and graphite on cement fibreboard, she creates drawings exploring parenthood, preternatural experiences, and connection to place.
Claudia Panca Fadilla
Claudia is a Bandung-based neurodivergent artist whose cheerful, feminine practice centers on her beloved cats, Manis and Milo. She depicts their everyday lives—eating, pregnancy, nursing, and playing with kittens—alongside expanding interests in flowers and other animals.

Peer to Peer / Ilham and Vipoo
Achmad Ilham Sadikin
Achmad Ilham Sadikin, known as Ilham, is a Bandung-based neurodivergent artist who has been creating since childhood. Inspired by his childhood surgery, which led him to describe himself as half-robot, half-human, he explores robotic visual elements through drawings, paintings, ceramics, and mixed media. He transforms discarded materials into imaginative animal sculptures.
Vipoo Srivilasa
Vipoo is a Thai-born Australian artist based in Melbourne and a prominent figure in contemporary ceramics. With over two decades of experience, his works explore themes of home, migration, and spirituality, creating accessible art that invites connection. His practice blends European porcelain aesthetics with Asian deity influences, using blue, white, and gold to represent cultural movement and evolving identity.

COMING UP!
IN MELBOURNE OCTOBER 2025
Adryan Adinugraha (Indonesia)
An in-person artist residency will take place at Jump Left project space by Adryan Adinugraha from Tab Space. He will travel to Melbourne and stay for two weeks with staff members Founder and Creative Director Imaniar Rizki, and Managing Director Nurul Lathifah. Adryan will work on a wall installation just outside the Jump Left gallery and project space, in the week leading up to the exhibition opening.
Adryan Adinugraha
Adryan is best known as a doodle prodigy. He has a unique fascination with drawing monstrous creatures. Lately, he has been honing his skills in illustrating human profiles-closely observing people around him and studying portrait references online. His bold, structural lines give a distinct energy to every subject he draws.
