Art et al. X RSS | Making Together
9 October – 24 November 2023

Making Together is the result of a brand new collaboration between Art et al. X Royal Society of Sculptors, an innovative collaborative programme and inclusive exhibition featuring artists working from UK supported studios, alongside their artistic peers, members of the Royal Society of Sculptors. The exhibition features the work created during two peer-to-peer collaborations. Thompson Hall, an artist with ActionSpace in London, has been working with Simone Kennedy MRSS while Leslie Thompson, an artist with Venture Arts in Manchester, has been collaborating with Eleni Maragaki MRSS. The resulting exhibition showcases new artwork made from both collaborations, spread across two rooms.

Atamur meets Mhought and Flaze
23 March -23 April 2023

Art et al. announces an exhibition in Boom Gallery, Victoria, Australia, titled Atamur meets Mhought and Flaze. Over the end of 2021 into 2022, Art et al. commissioned Matt Robertson from the ArtGusto studio in Geelong, Australia, to collaborate in their Peer/Peer programme with John Powell-Jones in Manchester, UK. The exhibition will feature several of the artists' original drawings alongside the two stories that have been created digitally, to show how the characters that had been created met and shared stories.

This collaboration was part of Art et al.’s international programming, with one artist working from a supported studio, and the outcome was left completely open. The exhibition space is near to Matt Robertson’s supported studio ArtGusto, so it allows more local audiences to glimpse into the collaboration.

Art et al. X APA | Intersect
3-25 September 2022

Art et al. is proud to announce its second Australian exhibition, Intersect at Arts Project Australia, Melbourne. The exhibition includes our UK x Australia Season One commissioned projects developed in 2021-22 and introduces our new partnership based in Indonesia. The exhibition features new international commissions, collaborations, and artists engaged over the last 18 months and introduces curated video works from the Art et al. X Ketemu collaboration with Indonesia.

Art et al.'s exhibition Intersect presents work from three continents by neurodivergent, intellectually and learning disabled artists, alongside their non-disabled peers. The exhibition focuses on work produced during Peer/Peer collaborations – digital residencies pairing international artists with and without disabilities.

Art et al. X Cromwell | Season One 16-27 March 2022

The exhibition is presented as part of the UK/Australia Season 2021-22, a joint initiative from the British Council and the Australian Government’s Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade. Season One will highlight several international commissions, collaborations, and artists featured during our first year of programming.

In line with Art et al.'s ethos of championing a more neurodiverse contemporary art world, Season One will exhibit neurodivergent, intellectually and learning-disabled artists, alongside their non-disabled peers. A focus of the exhibition will be the work produced during five Peer/Peer collaborations – digital residencies pairing international artists with and without disabilities. Artists discussed in our commissioned published texts, including in essays by Jennifer Higgie, Francesca Gavin, and Katrina Schwarz, will also be featured.

Art et al. X APA | Who Are We Now
2-5 December 2021

As part of the UK/Australia Season of Culture 2021-22, a major program of cultural exchange is taking place across the two nations. Central to Art et al. X 2021-22 programming is the presentation of two international in-person exhibitions, starting with an exhibition at APA’s Collingwood gallery, at Collingwood Yards.

The UK/Australia Season is a joint initiative by the British Council and the Australian Government’s Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade. The Season highlights the breadth of partnerships between Australia and the UK and aims to deepen and extend cultural connections.

In a four-day pop-up exhibition in Melbourne, audiences will engage with Art et al.’s international commissioned peer-to-peer collaborations and writing from Australian and UK cultural leaders Jennifer Higgie, Kelly Gellatly, Katrina Schwarz and Tiarney Miekus.
